Housed in Spilsby’s grade II listed former courthouse is an intimate venue called ‘The Sessions House Lounge’. We stage a range of events from youth theatre to music and comedy. Upcoming events are listed on the ‘What’s On’ page of the Sessions House website (links below).
Venue Hire
The lounge is 13x30ft with a stage, PA, stage/disco lighting and a licensed bar. The venue is available for hire for groups of up to 40 people and is used for meetings, community groups, band rehearsals, birthday parties and more.
The Future of Spilsby Theatre
In 2017 Spilsby Theatre closed, having sadly fallen into disrepair. The community responded and a major heritage restoration project was launched. Volunteers worked to enable part of the building to be kept in use and ‘the lounge’ was established as a fundraising venue. The aim is to restore the entire building and reopen as a theatre and community venue.
The project is now supported by Heritage Lottery, the Architectural Heritage Fund and the Theatres Trust. All proceeds from events go towards fundraising to transform the heritage site into a community arts centre.
