The ladies that frequent ‘All Wrapped Up’ coffee bar & café in Spilsby owned by Mr David Bettell heard that British legion member Ron Worth was collecting funds for the Spilsby branch of The Royal British Legion. They decided unanimously to see what they could do to help. Much time was spent crocheting poppies, and and others knitted a sailor a soldier and an airman and all were put on display together with a painting of a Spitfire aeroplane that had been painted by a husband of one of the customers, a very well executed cushion and some military themed mugs.

Visitors to the café were invited to put in a bid for the dolls and to help themselves to a poppy for a donation, the plane was put up for raffle.
When the draw took place after the minutes silence on Remembrance Day the picture was won by Shawna Dawson and the highest bid for the dolls was won by Tommy Atkins. When the count took place the sum of £220.40p had been raised, a fine effort that was carried out without the help of a committee or chairman. This money will go into the branch welfare fund to be used for the benefit of ex servicemen & women.

The Spilsby branch of The Royal British legion thank the ladies for their commitment to the fund raising effort. A job well done.
