John Etheridge is a legend among guitarists – the leading British
jazz guitarist of his generation. Ranging from playing with Soft Machine
to touring extensively with Stephan Grappelli’s quartet, he has
played with almost everybody in the jazz and classical world, including
John Williams, Yehudi Menuhin and Nigel Kennedy.
His latest recording left The Observer’s critic unusually lost
for words: “How can anyone achieve this level?” Virtuoso
violinist Chris Garrick is widely recognised as the foremost jazz violinist
in Britain and one of the leading players on the world scene. He has
toured with Cleo Lane and recorded with artists including Luka Bloom
and Brian Ferry, as well as on many film soundtracks including Borat,
Moulin Rouge, Tomorrow Never Dies, Chocolat, and Chicago. Together they
interpret jazz, folk, world and rock music by composers as diverse Grapelli,
Duke Ellington Paul Mc Cartney and Richard Thompson, Jobim and Methany.
Playing on both acoustic and electric instruments, these two virtuoso
soloists enchant and mesmerise. With a strong emphasis on sparkling
swing, deep groove and big themes, they deliver with trademark exuberance
and freewheeling interplay. You are promised a truly memorable evening.

music collide. Of course this multicultural mix isn’t surprising
from a bilingual band, whose founding member is Mexican-Canadian and
whose players cover a range of musical backgrounds from Bluegrass to
Soul, to traditional Scottish and Irish. Meanwhile critics
From Billboard to Washington Post don’t have any trouble describing
