Clap Trap Productions present NOT ABOUT HEROES
A moving and intimate drama by Stephen Macdonald about the real-life
relationship between two great First World War Poets, Wilfred Owen and
Siegfried Sassoon, with Dominic Goodwin as Siegfried Sassoon and Jonathon
Lewis as Wilfred Owen.
The play, taken from the poets actual writings, shows the “strangely
fruitful encounter between Siegfried Sassoon, poet and war hero, and
Wilfred Owen, who is recovering from shell shock & looking desperately
for a hero, who is not immune to the pity of war.
Sassoon looks back on the first meeting with Owen, in Craiglockhart
War Hospital, in the summer of 1917. Their friendship deepened only
to be cruelly cut short when a sniper killed Owen, just one week before
the armistice. Clap Trap Productions is a North Yorkshire touring theatre
company creating intimate, involving and memorable drama.

RYAN LE BLANC, OLD MAN LUEDECKE & CATHERINE MACLELLAN
The very best in Canadian New Roots Music ~ 3 young Canadian artists
all with new album releases.
RYAN LE BLANC ~ Whole rooms often stop to watch Ryan’s unique
guitar strumming, hammering and tapping, and his performance is truly
memorable – In Sydney, Cape Breton, at the East Coast Awards he
showcased in the Roots room and had three standing ovations in a 20
minute set! With his own original material, Ryan interlaces guitar,
djembe, harmonica, and banjo to produce upbeat, passionate musical pieces.
“The best thing I have seen in 20 years”, said Canada’s
premier multi-instrumentalist, J.P.Cormier during Stanfest 2005.
OLD MAN LUEDECKE ~ A rare musician following in the tradition of solo
banjo men and women of days gone by. A melodic, songwriter blending
a wealth of traditional Canadian musical influences with inspirational
songwriting. Very catchy tunes too!
CATHERINE MACLELLAN ~ It’s Catherine Maclellan’s voice that
strikes you first ~ pure and haunting ~ and then the subtle strengths
of her powerfully poetic songs emerge, revealing hidden depths with
every listen. As the daughter of Canadian music legend, singer/songwriter
Gene Maclellan, the writer of the huge 70’s hit “Snowbird,
she grew up surrounded by music and her father’s musical influence
was profound, borne out by the subtlety and beauty of her songwriting.

Fairport Convention’s Dave Pagg and Little Johnny England’s
P.J. Wright take to the road again. These two principal and influencial
figures on the folk-roots scene join forces again.
"I hope the title explains our approach," says PJ. "There
will be a mix of my songs from Hedge of Sound, some Little Johnny England
material, some of Peggy's songs and tunes from various sources, and
a smattering of Sandy Denny and Fairport. We might even throw in a bit
of Jethro Tull. Alongside this original material, we hope to play some
cover versions of our favourite songs down the years." The acoustic
instrumentation will include guitars, bouzouki, mandolin, dobro, harmonica
and bass. “Add Peggy’s skills as a raconteur and one or
two of my duff jokes and it should be an idiosyncratic, rocking evening
of fun for all the family” says P.J.
