Yellowbellies with a sweet tooth can pick up everything they need for pudding from their local Lincolnshire Co-operative foodstore thanks to the popular Local Choice range. Coffee ice cream, brandy and orange ice cream and mango sorbet are the new flavours available from Dennetts (www.dennetts.co.uk), based in Spilsby.

The new Dennetts varieties will be sold alongside the existing products in the range; vanilla ice cream, lemon sorbet, honeycomb ice cream and raspberry frozen yogurt. Each of Lincolnshire Co-op’s 70 stores will stock different combinations of flavours.

Dennetts dates back to the 1920s. The company currently employs members of the third and fourth generations of the family. Director Robin Dennett said: “I like working with Lincolnshire Co-op because, like us, it is long-standing local firm. One big advantage for us is that there are now plenty of stores where people can buy our products. I do around 50 to 60 talks to different groups every year and when they ask me ‘Where can I buy Dennetts Ice Cream?’ I now say ‘Pop into your local Co-op!’”
