| SPILSBY LIONS CHRISTMAS CRACKER DAY | 2002 December 14th. |
| This year's Christmas Cracker day organised by the Spilsby Lions, included carol singing around the Christmas Tree, Santa in his grotto, the Alford Morris dancers and a Christingle service in St. James Church. The best dressed shop window was again won by Pedigree Corner (for the third year running). The Young Farmers cooked hot-dogs and burgers, the Spilsby Tots prepared bacon rolls and soup; mulled wine and chestnuts were served by Andy Pandy! (the Rotary Club). The Methodist Church had a coffee morning with craft stalls and St. James' Parish Church provided tea, coffee and cakes. There was also photographic exhibition in the Parish Church. Stalls and Carols, with a demonstration of sign language, singing were in the theatre. Back in time on the road, vintage cars were around the Buttercross. We had to watch out for the fire engine that mounted the curb! There were a range of stalls around the Franklin statue. |
