Introduction

Apse (Actively Promoting Spilsby’s Environment), are a voluntary organisation with a vision to create a prosperous town that is a safe and pleasant place, to live work and visit.

This strategy has been written in consultation with the police community beat officer, the local schools, the crime prevention panel, and representatives of local businesses and town council.

It has also been written most importantly with the needs and aspirations of the residents in mind.

This strategy aims to deliver an accessible and fair service to all people in the district and Apse will work in partnership with all partners in both the voluntary and statutory sectors to bring about the best possible provision for our residents.

The Aim

The aim can be achieved by using three strands each of which has subsequent action plans.

1. Informing

Apse hopes to build and maintain positive relationships with the residents and business community by informing them of our activities and our aims using the media and posters. We want them to be able to recognise problems as they develop and become part of the solution.

Apse will provide residents with appropriate information to help prevent crime and disorder.

2. Involving

Apse will support all initiatives designed to provide a better quality of life for our residents. It will engage and assist where possible with groups who have similar aims.

Apse will encourage active participation from residents and will advertise their meetings and consult widely on all issues raised.

3. Inspiring

Apse will promote the town of Spilsby beyond the immediate area, in order that the town may prosper and flourish thereby promoting businesses and subsequent employment opportunity for our residents.

Apse will encourage others to engage in activity that will cleanse the environment and make the town an attractive place to live work and visit.

Apse Responsibilities

The chairman will review the strategy and action plans at the AGM each year.

Apse will use the local media to promote activity and the town at every opportunity.

Apse will ensure that their membership adhere to health and safety legislation when undertaking activities and are adequately insured.

Apse will ensure that their activities complement other organisations in the town wherever possible.
