Lincolnshire dialect – an introduction.

This half day school will take a light hearted look at Lincolnshire dialect – the spoken word and literature. Come along and find out the meaning of arrad, tim-poak,, mawkin, gorster and clunch.

Sculpture – carving the human figure

A whistle stop tour of the development of carved sculpture from its origins to the modern era, showing evolution and revolution in style, taste and function

Join us as we undertake a literary food fest. What did Chaucer’s cook prepare in his mediaeval kitchen?

Did Shakespeare live on ‘cakes and ale’? Who wrote down the recipes in the Austen household? Dip into the works of these and other great writers and taste some of the delicacies mentioned in their poetry and prose.

Making the most of your digital camera

Want to get the full benefit of your digital camera and produce better photographs? Join us in a series of photography workshops which will aim to improve your photography skills.

Bring a digital camera and a pen drive. Laptops will be available or bring your own.

A history of the Marsh and Wolds

Our villages and the landscape in which they sit have an interesting history. What has happened to the land and why have our villages come to be where they are? What clues to our past can we find in them?

We will endeavour to explore these questions and try to answer them. The course will include a field trip to the Wolds and Marsh and some of its villages.

A walk in the Wolds – South Cadeby Deserted Mediaeval Village

An introduction to the deserted mediaeval village of South Cadeby. The humps and bumps are all that is left of a thriving community. Come along and gain an insight into the village’s past. This gentle ramble requires stout footwear and an enquiring mind.

 Twelfth Night: or, What you will – a discovery afternoon.

Join us for an informal afternoon to become better acquainted with this well-loved comedy. This afternoon is being run as a preparatory session to our visit to Tolethorpe Hall.

Join us on our annual visit to The Rutland Open Air Theatre at Tolethorpe Hall near Stamford.
